Although mental health awareness has become a hot topic in the workplace, support is still falling short. In a recent survey conducted by Calm Business, 42% of respondents stated that work was a top reason for seeking mental health support. Many employees feel that employers should be responsible for providing mental health benefits, yet only 32% of respondents said that their employer offers them. Mental health support should go beyond a simple offering. Empathetic leadership training, wellness stipends and PTO for mental health days are among some of the additional benefits employees are looking for. Will we see more of this in the future?
