There is no denying that healthcare is expensive and the cost is rising. Even though over 90% of the U.S. population has some form of health insurance, nearly 41% of adults have medical debt and overall, Americans have nearly $200 billion of nationwide medical debt. The rising cost of health care is impacting employers too. It is expected that employers will pay more than $13,800 per employee in 2023, roughly a 6.5% increase. Many employers feel like they are offering the best that they can, yet financial strains prevent them from offering more, which can impact employee health, causing them to delay or avoid seeking care.
