The term 'Sunday Scaries' was coined as a way to explain the dread some individuals feel prior to the start of a work week, but as of lately, this seems to be bleeding into the rest of the week. In fact, a new report conducted by Headspace, found that 87% of employees feel a sense of dread at least once a month and 49% feel this way at least once a week. With so many unknowns lately like COVID, political unrest, mass layoffs and inflation, many employees, and employers alike, are feeling the stress. 59% of top leaders say they have concerns about economic circumstances on a weekly basis. So, how can organizations help ease the minds of their employees? Creating certainty around what they do know and offering mental health services may be the place to start, however, leading by example may make even more of an impact among employees.
