A recent survey, conducted by Wisetail, found that 63% of respondents struggle with Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), depressive episodes that are brought on by weather. 80% of those with SAD state that it affects the quality of their work. Because of this, some companies have adopted 'Summer Fridays,' which allow employees to be more autonomous about their time management and workplace. This perk lets employees either leave work early on Fridays or take the day off entirely, depending on company parameters. 85% of those who work at a company that offers 'Summer Fridays' said this perk makes them feel happier at work. While as of now this is more of an unofficial benefit, employers may want to look into keeping it permanently to boost employee mental health. Will this perk become more common?
