In a market that is increasingly competitive, what will make workers flock to an organization and what will make them stay? Continuing education may be the solution businesses are looking for. In a 2020 PwC report, 74% of CEOs worried about the skills of their team, yet only 18% have reported making significant progress in building an upskilling program. How can organizations upskill their employees? There are a surplus of ways to build a workforce's skillset. Second chance and mentorship programs are a great place to start for some. Others may look at continuing education through scholarship funds or grants that allow employees to go back to school. There is no one size fits all approach, but rather looking into what would work best for a population. Not only does it make an organization stronger, but it is a great benefit to help gain and retain the most talented of employees. Will we see more organizations create continuing education benefits in the workplace?
